FLOOR COAT EMULSION
To obtain best performance, the surface must be prepared correctly before application. Allow new concrete to cure for at least 4 weeks before painting. Concrete must be thoroughly cleaned before painting. 1. SMOOTH CONCRETE (unpainted) Remove any wax or water based curing agents used to aid curing of the concrete after casting. Degrease the surface, Rinse thoroughly with clean water. Allow to dry for at least 48 hours until totally dry. For all smooth surfaces, particularly steel floated concrete, for best result do self priming with Floor Coat Emulsion. Allow the surface to dry for 8 hours before applying Floor Coat Emulsion 2. CONCRETE SURFACES – (Unpainted e.g. wood floated) Degrease the surface to remove oil, grease and other contaminants by using proper DEGREASER. Allow to react for 20 minutes then rinse thoroughly with fresh water using a bristle broom to remove DEGREASER and all contaminants. Allow to dry for at least 48 hours or until totally dry. Do Self priming. Allow to dry for 8 hours. 3. CONCRETE SURFACES – (Previously painted with water based paint) Check random areas for adhesion. If problems are observed total removal of old paint is required. Remove all contaminants such as dirt, grease, oil, dust, etc. Sand smooth or glossy surfaces to improve adhesion. Clean thoroughly with Sugar Soap Powder solution using a scrubbing brush. Rinse thoroughly with water and allow to dry.
